Design for Youth Voice
This publication examines a history of harm and articulates the need for communities and systems to see, hear and protect youth in placement. I collaborated with the author on copy, visuals, and structure. Then, independently produced the design. It was important that the publication was modern and emotive as it responds to our time and its urgent systemic issues. Visuals and color scheme contribute to the author’s intent: affect changemakers and compel them to both advocate and act.
This publication was the culmination of other communications design work that I had been leading since 2020 that included large-scale social media campaign and the crafting of testimonies to push for the appointment of a youth ombudsperson in Philadelphia and drive other reforms that pertained to protecting youth.
